Queen Palms, Queen Anne Palms, Cocos Plumosa, or Syagrus romanzoffiana....

Call this palm what you like but no one can deny the value of this palm.

This fast growing, Cold Hardy, drought tolerant palm loves well drained soil and lots of fertilizer.

The Queen palm begins life with a booted trunk. This eventually turns to a grey color trunk referred to as grey wood. Ten feet of Grey Wood will result in a palm that is 24-26 feet tall.

The seed pods on the Queen Palm are prolific. They make a bunch of seeds.

The Queen Palm will require trimming twice a year.

The Sylvester Palm can survive temperatures into the high teens and can take some frost.

The Foxtail Palm is self cleaning and cold hardy to the upper twenties. The Foxtail Palm can take a light frost even with minor damage.

Queen Palm / Queen Anne Palm / Syagrus romanzoffiana
The Queen Palm has large spreading fronds that add shade and height to the Centrral Florida landscape.
The Queen Palm can take temperatures into the mid twenties and some frost.
