The Mule Palm or Syagrus romanzoffiana x. Butia capitata is a hybrid palm or cross between the Queen Palm (Syagrus romanzoffiana) and Pindo Palm (Butia capitata). The results are an attractive, cold hardy, drought tolerant and salt tolerant palm withstanding temperatures down to 14 degrees f. The Mule Palm is a fairly slow grower, eventually reaching heights of 30-40' when mature.
