Cuban Royal Palm - Roystonea regia

Royal Palms - Roystonea regia installation

The Royal Palm or Roystonea regia is an elegant, tropical palm of which two varieties exist: The Cuban Royal Palm and The Florida Royal Palm. Both can reach heights of over 40' but the Cuban Royal Palm has a bulging, fat, rounded base whereas the Florida Royal Palm has a more slender, column like trunk. The Royal Palm prefers allot of water and looks its best with an adequate supply. These palms thrive in zones 10a -11 but can emdure tempertures down to 28 degrees f. for short periods.
