Tampa Bay Landscaper - Landscaping Project

Here is a good example of a before and after with a recently completed landscape project in the Apollo Beach, Florida area. A Quality Plant met with the owner of the home and plans were made to replace the "Builder Special" landscape package with a more tropical look. The palms were transplanted to the back yard and all the other plants with the exception of the flax lilies and the mammy crotons were removed.
A Quality Plant installed 9 Flax Lilies to reinforce the look around the Royal Palm to the left of the driveway and one additional Mammy Croton. The Royal Palm added much needed height to this side of the house. Special care is required to transplant a Royal Palm with no damage to the sensitive Grey Wood.
The Fungus infested Podocarpus was replaced with a Dracenia marginata, the Crinum Lily was replaced with a European Fan Palm and the sickly Queen Palm was replaced with another Royal Palm.
The Pine Bark chips were removed and replaced with Cypress Mulch. Why not Red Mulch? No contrast with the Mammy Crotons. Cypress makes the Mammy Crotons "Pop".
Finally, A Quality Plant installed 6 Purple Lantana around the Live Oak at the street.

A Quality Plant Is a full service Landscaper. Services include free estimates and the installation of tropical plants, palm trees, trees, pavers and curbing. A Quality Plant is asked frequently to come up with a plan to improve existing landscaping. Below is an example of one such job located in Apollo Beach, Florida in the Harbor Isles subdivision.

(grey rock was cold and did not work well with the color of the house...the Magnolia was not doing well due to soil conditions, the grass was planted too close to the sidewalk and had to be over-trimmed to keep it off the walkway, the hibiscus tree was too close to the sidewalk and the house)

After discussing color preferences and identifying plants the customer preferred, A Quality Plant presented a plan to the customer. Here are the results.

A Quality Plant would love the opportunity to work with you next.

Bismarck Palm - Bismarckia nobilis - Bismark Palm

Bismarck Palms installed.
A Quality plant grows the Bismarck Palm for wholesale palm sales and for retail palm sales. We install the Bismarck palm for customers too. The Bismarck Palm is unique with it's silvery blue coloration on the fronds. The Bismarck Palm is large in stature and can grow to be over 20' wide. The trunk of the Bismarck Palm is thick and will lose the old leaf boots once the palm has approximately 4-6' of trunk.

The Bismarck Palm is cold tolerant down to the low twenties and cold hardiness goes hand in hand with the coloration. The more silver the Bismarck Palm, the more cold hardy. The Bismarck Palm has no known diseases and is surprisingly wind tolerant once established.

Here are a couple we installed this week in a homeowners yard. The truly are a magnificent palm!

Wholesale Date Palms - Date Palm Installation

The Sylvester Date Palm also known as Phoenix sylvestris, Silver Date Palm or Wild Date Palm, is a resiliant palm tree that is cold hardy, thriving in USDA hardiness zones 8b - 11. The Sylvester Palm can reach heights of 40-50' when mature, has a showy head of beautiful silver-green to silver-blue fronds that can be 10-14' in length and shooting straight up to the sky, making this a perfect centerpiece palm! It's also great choice because it is less susceptable to disease than it's relative the Canary Island Date Palm without sacrificing a stunning appearance. Pictured to the left is an example of a Sylvester Date Palm of which we installed for a landscape customer in the Tampa, Fl area.

Our tree farm has a large supply of this and many other wholesale date palm trees to choose from. Give us a call today for more information or a free quote. Wholesale pricing available for landscapers, contractors, builders or anyone purchasing in quantity.
