Screw Pine, Triangle Palm, Royal Palms, Bismarck Palms and more

A Quality Plant recently completed a fun Landscape transformation in Treasure Island, Florida. The homeowner was looking to remove all the old plants and invasive trees and replace them with large, specimen palm trees and other tropical trees. The tear out took nearly a day and a half. Then came the fun stuff!

Coconut Palms - Cocos nucifera
Royal Palms - Roystonea regia
Bismarck Palms - Bismarckia nobilis
Triangle Palms - Dypsis decaryi
Taraw Palms - Livistona saribus
Licuala spinosa Palms
Chinese Fan Palms - Livistona chinensis
Areca Palms - Dypsis lutescens
Screw Pine - Pandanus utilis
Reclinata Palms - Phoenix reclinata
Phoenix Hybrid Palm - Canary x Roebelenii
and more....

20 plus mature palm trees can transform just about any yard!
Thanks Oliver for the opportunity to landscape your new home. I  am looking forward to adding in the small plants and mulch.

Ribbon Palms - Livistona decipiens - A Quality Plant

Ribbon Palms - Livistona decipiens

The Ribbon Palm is closely related to the Chinese Fan Palm but has some characteristics that make it better suited for landscapes. The Ribbon Palm has persistent boots that are most persistent at the base of the palm. The leaf is divided once to the base of the petiole and then again halfway. This is what creates the Ribbon look to the leaf.

The Ribbon Palm will take a mild frost with little or no damage and can survive temps into the teens. The growth rate is medium and, under the right conditions, can be 2-3 feet of trunk growth in a year.

The Ribbon Palm loves full sun. It is much harder to keep a Chinese Fan Palm dark green in full sun than the Ribbon Palm.

The old fronds / boots of the Ribbon Palm will eventually shed and reveal a burgundy ringed trunk that is attractive.

A Quality Plant grows and sells the Ribbon Palm / Livistona decipiens and we have them field grown and container grown.

Wholesale Ribbon Palms, Livistona decipiens, Cold Hardy Palms

Native to Australia the Ribbon Palm or Ribbon Fan Palm/Livistona decipiens is a slightly cold hardy palm tree that can handle temperatures within USDA hardiness zones 9-11 although some people say they even do well in 8b. When young, the Ribbon Palm needs plenty of water but once maturity is reached they become quite a drought tolerant palm and do not like wet soggy areas. Ribbon Palms are tall, slender palms that can reach heights of 30'.

The Ribbon Palm is just one of the cold hardy palm trees we grow here at our wholesale palm tree farm. Give us a call today for a free quote or information. Discount or whoelsale pricing always available for landscapers, contractors or anyone purchasing in quantity!

A Quality Plant - Florida Wholesale Palms - Livistona decipiens

Ribbon Palm - Curved  - Livistona decipiens
Looking for a cold hardy palm? The Ribbon Palm /Livistona decipiens can withstand freezing temperatures and even a good degree of frost with little or no damage.

A Quality Plant has many sizes of Ribbon Palms to choose from with some specimens towering to 40' tall. A Quality Plant also has curved Ribbon Palms with 6 - 14' of trunk. The Ribbon Palm has a medium growth rate.

The Ribbon Palm does indeed give the appearance of ribbons hanging down from the crown. This is due to the splits in the leaf. One split reaches to the base of the leaf and the next to the halfway point.

The Livistona decipiens has recently been renamed the Livistona decora. We will stick to the common name Ribbon Palm.

Curved Ribbon Palm - Livistona decipiens
This Ribbon Palm was planted in a customers yard in Apollo Beach, Florida. The curve allowed us to plant the Ribbon Palm near the house and still have space between the fronds and the roof. This customer has about 15 different varieties of palms in their yard now. Go Oliver!

Wholesale Grower - Wholesale Palm Trees - Wholesale Plants - Tree Farm

Ribbon Palms - Livistona decipiens
Our wholesale palm tree nursery has been busy even in the cold weather we've been having here in Ruskin, fl. Many customers are calling about and ordering cold hardy palms. Ribbon Fan Palms (Livistona decipiens) are a drought tolerant palm that are slightly cold hardy also, doing well in USDA Zones 9-11. Some people even say they have grown these in Zone 8b with temperatures down to 20 degrees without any problems. One of our wholesale palm tree customers just ordered a truckload of Ribbon Palms (Livistona decipiens) as you can see in the photo above. Quantity orders of palm trees, plants, shrubs, or trees always receive discount pricing or wholesale palm tree pricing.
