A Quality Plant probably sells more Sabal Palms than all our other palms combined. They are indeed popular. Sabal palms are Cold Hardy Palms taking temperatures in the low teens. The are native to Florida, Georgia and even South Carolina. Sabal Palms are drought tolerant palms. They are salt tolerant and are slow growing. Most important to builders is that Sabal Palms are Cheap Palms!
Sabal Palms are harvested from ranches where they have been growing in the wild for 20-30+ years.
Sabal Palms come booted or slick and the heads will be cut back so that transplant will have a high success rate. Sabal Palms with foliage left on them will be much more difficult to transplant and the mortality rate will be high. Regenerated Sabals are available. Regenerated Sabals have new foliage pushing out and are great when you need a mature look now.
