This is a Mule Palm (Syagrus romanoffziana x. Butia capitata) that our tree farm installed for our landscape customer in Indian Rocks Beach, Fl. With the Mule Palm being a cross between the Queen Palm and Pindo Palm you end up with a beautiful silver-bluish/green cold hardy palm tree that has been known to withstand temperatures down to 10 degrees F.
The Mule Palm is also a salt tolerant, as well as a drought tolerant palm tree. It is a fairly fast grower when young but then slows down quite a bit and can reach heights of 30' when fully grown. If you are in an area that is too cold for tropical type palm trees but would still appreciate a palm tree that has a tropical look then the Mule Palm may be just the choice for you. It has stand alone beauty that also make it a great centerpiece palm.
Our tree farm has many hybrid type palm trees such as the Mule Palm along with many, many other varieties from cold hardy to tropical. Give us call today for more information or for a free quote on your next landscape project.
Wholesale pricing is always available for landscapers, contractors or even the general public when purchasing in quantity.
